MediaTek has launched yet another Chipset model in the famous Helio series, called Helio P15.
Helio P15 is the successor to the well known Helio P10 with some improvements in battery optimizations and general performance.
The Helio P15 came with an Octa-core Cortex-A53 processor with the speed clocking at 2.2GHz and also a Mali-T860 MP2 -dual core- GPU clocking at 800MHz.
The original P10 chip has the same processor running at 2.0GHz and the same GPU clocked at 700MHz.
Helio P15 promises to give 10% performance increase over its predecessors Helio P10 and lower and also a better power efficiency.
Helio P15 chipset is said to be manufactured on the same TSMC 28nm process as the Helio P10, so the battery improvements won’t be that big.
Coming to the RAM support, there is still no much information on the supported RAM, but the Chipset is said to be using the same single-channel LPDDR3-933 memory.
Helio P15 has support for LTE, with a support for LTE Cat.6.
According to source, there is no information on when the Chipset will be available, but i guess, upcoming budget smartphones will come with this chipset.
