Google has officially announced last month, February 2017, that they are also aware of the bug and had fixed it.
Moreover, there is no action required by the user, you don’t need to perform a system update or anything. The bug has been fixed and installed automatically in all affected Pixel smartphones.
Google confirmed that it is a server-side update and it’s likely that the fix was installed through Google Play Services update, which happens automatically in the background.
Any other Pixel devices affected by this should likely get fixed too. You can check again to confirm if the problem persists.
