Things you should know:
- The peer to peer money transfer is based on India’s Unified Payments Interface.
- The Reserve Bank of India regulates UPI through its payment subsidiary NPCI. Currently, as many as 72 banks including HDFC, Axis, ICICI, SBI, Yes Bank, Allahabad Bank, Punjab National Bank, etc. support it.
- When you send money using Whatsapp Payment, It is directly credited to the recipient’s bank account.
- While setting up the payment system, you will need to verify your phone number, Your Whatsapp number needs to be the same the mobile number linked to your bank account.
Step 1. Launch Whatsapp on your iOS or Android smartphone.
Step 2. Next, go to the conversation. (I mean, select the conversation of the friend who you want to send money to).
Step 3. Next, on your iPhone or iPad, tap on the “+” button (On your Android device, tap on the “Clip” icon.) Next, tap on Payment.
