EFCC Partners With MTN On Financial Crimes

Mr Ishaq Salihu, the South South Zonal Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has that said the commission will partner with MTN in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the country.

Salihu said this in a statement signed by Mr Wilson Uwujaren, Head, Media and Publicity of the commission.

Salihu was quoted as saying when this when he received some senior officers of the telecommunications company who paid a courtesy visit to the commission’s zonal office in Port Harcourt.

He said that partnering with the company in the fight against money laundering and other forms of economic and financial crimes was vital to the development of the country. According to him, such partnership will help reduce capital flight and restore Nigeria’s integrity.

He advised the company to operate within the ambit of the law and fish out moles within its ranks, adding that the EFCC would not spare anyone, if caught on the wrong side of the law. “The Acting Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, is a no nonsense man.

He will not condone anybody or organisation on the wrong side of the law,” Salihu said. On his part, Mr Asamine Anueyiagu, the Senior Manager, Customer Care of MTN, said that the company was ready to share information with the commission whenever the need arose. Also speaking, Mr Dominic Ughanze, the Regional Security Manager, South South/South Eastern Region of the MTN, and Cynthia Aroghan, Regional Manager, Enterprise Business, South South/South Eastern Region also commended EFCC for its work.
